Join us for a relaxed and joyful Rotary District 9685 picnic designed to celebrate YOU, the people who give so much to others. This is a chance to fill your cup with laughter, connection, and gratitude, surrounded by fellow Rotarians, families, and friends.

Dinner will be in the Bistro area from 6pm and the meeting will start in the hall at 7pm.

Liam McKenna is the Lane Cove Community Chaplain, providing pastoral care and support to people across the local community. His role focuses on building connections, offering a listening ear, and supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. Liam works alongside community organisations to help strengthen wellbeing, resilience, and a sense of belonging in Lane Cove.

Don Mills has been a Lane Cove local for over 40 years and very involved in the local community particularly in his previous neighbourhood around Avian Crescent in Lane Cove North.  In more recent times he has travelled to France visiting the graves of his relatives.  It is a wonderful story of a family member at war.

Janine Wood will speak to us about Mary's House Services which we have supported by cooking a BBQ at their annual fundraising walk.

Domestic and family violence has twice been declared a national crisis by Australia’s Prime Minister in the past 28 months, yet on Sydney’s northern suburbs there remain only four small refuges supporting women and children escaping violence. Mary’s House Services receives no ongoing state or federal government funding for either its refuge or community program centre, relying instead on the generosity of the community. Janine will share the increasing demand for the organisation’s specialist services; including refuge, dedicated social work, counselling, legal and financial support, and safety planning, while also exploring Mary’s House Services’ hopes and ambitions as it marks its 10th year and looks ahead to the next decade of supporting victim survivors to find safety, hope and healing.
