Peter Young and Sue Heins will be our guest speakers with the topic of Delvena, the only organization in NSW who take children with the women at the refuge.
Domestic violence is a serious problem which impacts many NSW families. In 2016, an estimated 17 per cent of Australian women aged 18 years and over (or 1.6 million women) had experienced violence by a partner since the age of 15 years
Delvena Women’s Refuge is located in Lane Cove. Delvena, provides accommodation and holistic support to women and children who have experienced domestic violence and are homeless as a result. For obvious reasons the address is not publicised to ensure the safety of the people who seek assistance from the Refuge.
It is run by Manly Warringah Women’s Resource Centre which provides a range of support services to women and their children, including crisis and transitional accommodation, early intervention support, group programs and counselling.
The cost to attend is $20 which also includes dinner. This is payable on the night. Everyone is very welcome to attend but please let us know you are coming by clicking the contact us button below.
