What is our Rotary club assembly about?

It is a meeting where members gather to discuss club business, review progress on projects, and plan for the future. It's a platform for open dialogue, idea exchange, and ensuring alignment with the club's goals. These assemblies typically involve reports from directors and committee chairs, as well as discussions on membership, service projects, and upcoming events.

Your participation and interaction at the meeting will be greatly appreciated.

Carina Stone is a Rotary Global Grant scholar who is currently midway through her Master in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is passionate about social and economic policy changes that promote community wellbeing and support vulnerable Australians. She is in Sydney for her summer internship working with a social enterprise called Flequity Ventures on a project focused on disrupting financial abuse and tech abuse in the telecommunications industry.

We will be in the Meeting Room and will order and pay for food individually from the bar which will be delivered to our tables. The menu is very reasonably priced with a good choice of food. 

The Man Behind the Role.  Jerome Laxale MP was elected as the Member for Bennelong in 2022. He is going to speak about his background, why he got into politics and what matters to him most without making it political.

We are going back to one of our favourites, Zapparellis. The cost is $30.00 per person for pizzas, garlic bread and salads.

Lindsay May and Tania Mace will share their stories of the adventures that they have just had in Europe. Lindsay will also tell of his latest sailing exploit in the Fastnet Race.

Join us for our September Social at Hunters Hill Hotel (HHH). The Tuesday night special is Guiness Pie $22. HHH Gourmet pub menu includes salmon fillets, wood-fired pizzas, salads, burgers and chips! Come and meet our Youth Exchange student, Jesse from Germany. Theres plenty of onsite parking behind the Pub.

Join us for a fun and relaxed evening as the Bradfield Rotary Community Group (RCG) Clubs come together to welcome District Governor Michele and enjoy some friendly competition with Barefoot Bowls at The Diddy.

End Polio Now Fundraiser

The Appleton Ladies Potato Race Stage Play hosted by Rotary Chatswood Roseville at the Zenith Theatre.

Russell Hall is the Australia and New Zealand Country Lead for Kuiper Commercial Services. He will be telling us about Amazon's Low Earth Orbit satellite and developments in communication technology and global broadband connectivity.

From My Brain to Theirs - My Life with Neurosurgery.

Assoc Professor Brindha Shivalingam is a Neurosurgeon who operates at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. She has often been on the TV show RPA. 

Brindha will speak about the history of Neurosurgery and her life in this career. She will then focus on her passion for changing the outcomes for patients with brain cancer and highlight the cases of Prof Chris O’Brien and Prof Richard Scolyer.

In conjunction with Lane Cove Council and Lane Cove Rotary there will be 1 minute silence remembrance for Domestic and Family Violence sufferers in Lane Cove Plaza. This initiative is part of the United Nations '16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence'. 

There will be an information stall from 11am to 2pm for information and advise about domestic and family violence. 

Come and celebrate Christmas with us! Bring your partner too and wear something 'Christmassy'. 

Santa may even pay us a special visit. This will be our last meeting for 2025 before we recommence in mid-January.

We need final numbers, payment and any dietary requirements by Monday 8 December. Please reply as soon as possible.

A two-course meal will be served at a cost of $55 per person. Payment can be made directly into our account (please use your surname and number of bookings as a reference, e.g. Surname x 2), or by Tyro or Cash at the Car Boot Sale on Sunday 7th.
