Carina Stone is a Rotary Global Grant scholar who is currently midway through her Master in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is passionate about social and economic policy changes that promote community wellbeing and support vulnerable Australians. She is in Sydney for her summer internship working with a social enterprise called Flequity Ventures on a project focused on disrupting financial abuse and tech abuse in the telecommunications industry. Alison Cappetta is a long-standing volunteer leader with Lane Cove Girl Guides and a former youth member. She will be presenting a talk and slideshow based on the 2025 Trek for Girls that took 17 women from across the country through the remote communities of the Annapurna Valley in Nepal. This small group raised over $40000 for Girl Guides Australia to continue its mission to empower girls and young women to discover their potential as leaders of their world

Moree Project, Books In Homes.
Past District Governor Pam Pritchard has been a long time supporter of "Books in Homes" for the Moree community students. Pam will give us an update on the project. Her Turramurra Rotary Club with our Club other Rotary Clubs in our region have raised astounding funds to supply books for the Moree students. Aim: To address problems for disadvantaged students, many of them Aboriginal, in the Moree area. Goals:

Assoc Professor Brindha Shivalingam is a Neurosurgeon who operates at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. She has often been on the TV show RPA. Brindha will speak about the history of Neurosurgery and her life in this career. She will then focus on her passion for changing the outcomes for patients with brain cancer and highlight the cases of Prof Chris O’Brien and Prof Richard Scolyer. This initiative is part of the United Nations '16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence'.
