Come along for an inspiring talk by local Greenwich “girl” Kathleen Cook. Kathleen was an awarded high school sprinter but gave it all away to pursue a teaching career and then raising a family. However, at 63, urged on by a gym coach and keen to improve her fitness and conditioning level, she resumed her sprinting life within Masters Athletics, training 3 days a week. Since then, she has competed in numerous national and international events and holds several Masters records. Kathleen sees no ‘finish line’ as she is a ‘Sprinter for Life’ and looks forward to sharing her story with us. |

Since 2004, Kerry Luxton has spent around two months each year volunteering in Kolkata and raises funds annually to support her work. The funds help cover costs for two homes for destitute elderly people in Kolkata, as well as salaries and materials for 12 teachers across six small schools in remote fishing villages on the Bay of Bengal. These schools serve around 300 children from fisherfolk and itinerant families, many of whom are the first in their families to receive an education.
