Meet Bec Healy, CEO of Boxhead Plastics an Australian-based (Berowra exactly) not-for-profit social enterprise who is taking car bumpers out of landfill and turning them into golf tees! Only 11.5% of Australian plastic waste is recycled. Bec knew Australia had a plastic waste problem, but I did not realise we were at crisis point. With China no longer acting as the world recycler she felt she had to try and help tackle our plastic problem and Boxhead Plastics was founded in response to this plastic waste crisis. In 2017 Bec started experimenting with polypropylene car bumper bars, handcrafting boxes from this plastic material. This is where the name Boxhead Plastics comes from. In 2018 Bec enrolled at Lidcombe TAFE studying Polymer Technology. By 2020, Boxhead Plastics had successfully forged a chain of relationships that turns locally recycled car bumper bars into a feedstock ready for injection moulding. Today Boxhead Plastics manufactures the Naiteev Golf Tee and the Naiteev Drink Coaster from recycled car bumper bars. Catering at the Diddy is by LUSSO Bistro. You order and pay individually. - On arrival proceed to the bar area to place order. They have a large selection of small and large dishes including tasty Pizza! |

Matthew Spencer makes a grand entrance into the Australia crime fiction genre with Black River. Black River is the first crime fiction release from former journalist Matthew Spencer. A taut, creepy and knife-edge style thriller, Black River is a high calibre novel that slots very easily into the Australian crime noir genre. “Black River is a fine read, breathing new life into the urban police procedural and the predictability of the serial killer thriller while offering trenchant observations about people and place that ring infallibly true. Such is the power of good crime fiction.” By Sue Turnbull Sydney Morning Herald.
