"Never Give Up"
Nov 01, 2022 6:30 PM
Jenny Cartwright on NEVER GIVE UP! or " How to keep active physically and mentally even when you think you can’t". For 40 years Jenny’s hobbies revolved around tennis, skiing, walking, running and ceroc dancing. An unsuccessful bilateral hip replacement 12 years ago put an end to all those activities but being determined to maintain her physical fitness she went on a journey to find out what she could still do rather than what she couldn’t and what everyone of you can do too. Jenny will entertain you with her story of the wacko treatments she tried to keep her moving, the creams, pills and potions she recommends you don’t bother buying, the decision to follow her passion to become an aqua fitness instructor at 64 and the challenges she had to overcome to endure that training. Now she is helping others to stay fit, many of whom had given up on even trying because of pain or lack of mobility. You will be inspired and learn: How to find your passion in later life and manifest it. How to keep walking with some simple equipment however much pain you have. Exercises you can do to stay fit for the rest of your life. A couple of crazy things you could do right now to feel great and make your life exciting whatever age you are. Catering at the Diddy is by LUSSO Bistro. You order and pay individually. - On arrival proceed to the bar area to place order. They have a large selection of small and large dishes including tasty Pizza!

Meet Bec Healy, CEO of Boxhead Plastics an Australian-based (Berowra exactly) not-for-profit social enterprise who is taking car bumpers out of landfill and turning them into golf tees and drink coasters! Only 11.5% of Australian plastic waste is recycled. Bec knew Australia had a plastic waste problem, but I did not realise we were at crisis point. With China no longer acting as the world recycler she felt she had to try and help tackle our plastic problem and Boxhead Plastics was founded in response to this plastic waste crisis. In 2017 Bec started experimenting with polypropylene car bumper bars, handcrafting boxes from this plastic material. This is where the name Boxhead Plastics comes from. In 2018 Bec enrolled at Lidcombe TAFE studying Polymer Technology. By 2020, Boxhead Plastics had successfully forged a chain of relationships that turns locally recycled car bumper bars into a feedstock ready for injection moulding. Today Boxhead Plastics manufactures the Naiteev Golf Tee and the Naiteev Drink Coaster from recycled car bumper bars. Catering at the Diddy is by LUSSO Bistro. You order and pay individually. - On arrival proceed to the bar area to place order. They have a large selection of small and large dishes including tasty Pizza! |

Such is the power of good crime fiction.” By Sue Turnbull Sydney Morning Herald.
