Dr Daniel Nour, Director of ‘Street-Side Medics’ presented what was an inspiring talk on what is essentially a mobile health clinic, fitted out like a general practice. It provides medical examinations, basic pathology and minor surgical procedures in predetermined areas in Sydney for free to the homeless. Homelessness has increased by 63% in the past five years and in many instances, these people will not seek medical attention. He is passionate about changing the life of “one person at a time”. Dr Nour and his team are currently working with the Northern Sydney Local Health District to expand ‘Street-Side Medics’ to the North Shore areas.
