Pitching for Rotary to support ‘Mercy Ships’

Brian Jonson, President of Marlow Rotary Club UK (near London) was our guest speaker this week whilst on a two-week family holiday. He has had extensive charity coordination experience with Rotary in Liberia and is now pitching for Rotarian’s world-wide to support ‘Mercy Ships’.
Mercy Ships is a global charity that has operated hospital ships in developing nations since 1978, bringing hope and healing to the forgotten poor by mobilizing people and resources worldwide, serving all people without regard for race, gender or religion. Mercy Ships uses hospital ships to deliver free, world-class health care services, capacity building and sustainable development aid to those without access in the developing world. Each year, more than 1,000 volunteers from over 40 nations serve with Mercy Ships. Professionals including surgeons, dentists, nurses, health care trainers, teachers, cooks, seamen, engineers, and support staff donate their time and skills to the effort. Mercy Ships seeks to transform individuals and serve nations one at a time.
