Maureen Hurley, works with Jenny May but is a volunteer nurse in the Congo. She is very entertaining and has some amazing photos and stories to share.
Congo is among the poorest of the poor countries and is rated in the bottom 12 countries according to the Human Development index. While Australians enjoy a rating of number 2 in the world, Congo is 176. The needs of the Congo are overwhelming and the bar is so low you could trip over it.
In May last year Maureen Hurley was part of a medical aid team of 3 who travelled to the Democratic republic of Congo to 5 rural Congolese hospitals to help teach life saving resuscitation skills.
Maureen is a Registered Nurse and has been invited to speak about her adventures and the life changing work of HandUp Congo.
